Vice President, Content

We are looking for a leader with strategic vision to lead our Content Team, and help take the company to the next level. The Vice President, Content is responsible for overseeing all creative design, user-generated content and editorial initiatives for the company.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership for the creative design team, the editorial team, and the UGC team.
  • Develop and establish a consistent design and editorial voice reflecting the mission of Allrecipes.
  • Establish and drive Allrecipes content strategy from the moment a visitor comes to the site.
  • Work with Product Team to develop a rigorous approach to product design and development.
  • Lead and motivate UGC, editorial, and design staff to implement vision, including talent acquisition, performance management, and career development. Manage vendors, outsourcing contracts, and contract labor.
  • Oversee the day-to-day online editorial operations of all content (e.g. user-generated recipes and content, editorial features, newsletters, experts, video, etc.) to support revenue goals.
  • Collaborate strategically with product and development in building new site features and functionality.
  • Develops and manages content budget, and drives improvements to operational efficiency to contribute to overall profitability of company.
  • Contribute as part of executive team in achieving overall company goals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of successful content or creative management experience at a senior-executive level.
  • BFA or BA in design, advertising, or writing preferred.
  • Experience in managing designers, writers, and other creative resources in an online setting. Provide direction and motivation to staff.
  • In-depth Internet industry knowledge of new technologies to continue to improve overall user experience.
  • Strong strategic and creative thinking skills; ability to identify the key issues to dramatically increase brand equity with Allrecipes existing users and meet changing marketplace demands.
  • Must have passion for the Internet and ability to understand and embrace new technology.
  • Love of food preferred.
  • Social media experience preferred.

Australian/New Zealand Program Online Content Manager (Based in Sydney)

We need an exceptional leader with the vision, experience, and drive to help us accomplish our goals. This position manages the production and launch of editorial and user-generated content for international Allrecipes.com sites.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversees content development for new Australian/New Zealand Allrecipes.com site to ensure recipe and related content is ready and of high quality at time of launch, and on-going thereafter.
  • Ensures that content reflects brand principles and follows style guidelines. Oversees quality control of content to ensure that recipes and any other content is high quality, accurate, and appropriate for the country site.
  • Writes regular email newsletter(s) reflecting country content and readership interests.
  • Edits and loads recipes.
  • Ensures recipe categorization accurately supports SEO.
  • Provide custom copy as needed to support advertising and marketing efforts.
  • Develops and manages project plan for up front content loading and hiring to meet aggressive project launch timelines.
  • Works with international launch team in Seattle to ensure successful launch.
  • Works with international team and local country manager to ensure successful launch.
  • Works as part of country and International team and ensures that content is maintained and updated and that content supports the Allrecipes.com brand, site traffic growth, and advertising sales.

Qualifications

  • Must have thorough experiential professional knowledge of Australian and New Zealand cuisine, recipe editing, and online community sites including editorial and user-generated content.
  • Strong writing and editorial skills; understanding of writing for marketing content.
  • Minimum two years of professional cookbook, food blog writing or other food-related content, and copywriting experience.
  • Familiarity with web-based content development.
  • High attention to detail; Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in global, matrixed corporate setting.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, databases, and Outlook. Experience using Internet for research.
  • Ability to travel internationally occasionally. Ability to spend first 4-6 weeks in Seattle to work with international team.

Regional Sales Manager – Bay Area

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing an assigned geographic territory and accountable for achieving territory revenue goals for business-to-consumer model.
  • On-line advertising, licensing agreements and other promotional sales to corporations.
  • Maintain effective and productive relationships with customers and prospects; understand advertising and agency positions and branding; offer strategic solutions to meet advertisers’ needs.
  • Establish a sales pipeline by identifying, prioritizing and contacting sales prospects. Develop long standing quality relationships with key business decision makers that result in increased revenue and high standing for Allrecipes in the marketplace.

Director, Advertising Sales – Eastern Region

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing direct sales advertising Regional Account Managers (RSM’s) for the eastern region of the U.S.
  • As part of senior sales team, accountable for achieving direct revenue goals for business-to-consumer model. As key member of senior sales team, helps develop strategic plan for sales, creates annual revenue and expense budgets for direct sales.

  • Approximately 35% travel required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of successful consultative selling and minimum 3 years in sales management. Minimum of 2 years in online advertising sales.
  • Experience in dealing with senior level executives of major global organizations.
  • A proven track record of success in on-line advertising sales required.
  • Strong strategic and creative thinking skills; ability to identify the key issues to close deals.
